If I could put zero stars, I would. They preach being better than any security company but lack in so many departments. Communication is not great, you’ll ask for hours and they’ll ignore your text or tell you they told someone about it and never get back to you. My car gave out on me and they let me use the company car for a month and said I was approved to take the car home just to randomly say it’s a liability out of the blue and then cut my hours. I literally had to find a new security job. I worked 2weeks straight when two people quit on them during the holidays and they said they really needed me and I did my part. They expect you to have their back but the minute somethings going on with you, they’re ready to drop you in two seconds; don’t even bother.

As I write this, I’m upset and disappointed to be doing so but more upset at the circumstances that lead me to this. Let me say that I have reached out to Advantage Security account manager Perry Barr who has not returned my phone call but did return an email from our HOA about this situation 3 weeks ago, to say that it was not protocol.

We have lived in our small subdivision for over a year and in that time my husband walks our dog almost every night. Advantage Security patrols as a safety to us, however this seems to only extend to certain residents. My husband is followed by the security guards, they stop and watch him, and 3 weeks ago, they took a picture of him and then took off. I have been outside with our dog or just taking a walk and the security guards drive on by with no incident, and I have seen other residents out and the guard doesn’t stop to watch them or take pictures of them.

Now, you might be wondering what my husband looks like? Well, he is one of the few black people in our neighborhood. I happen to be white. Although, we don’t jump to conclusions, one could guess this might have a bearing on why my husband is singled out and harassed in this manner.

Now, our HOA president brought this to Advantage Security’s attention and Perry’s response was that guards are told to take photos of the area they patrol, but not photos of people. Neither Perry nor any other representative from the company has contacted us, issued an apology, or even returned my direct call to them. Quite frankly, the response suggests that they don’t take this as seriously as it should be taken.

My sincere hope is that this company will either take this as a warning to DO BETTER and TRAIN their employees to patrol consciously with integrity and weed out those who refuse to work diligently on this, or that they will lose business from the lack of accountability.
